USB Digital Input Output Modules
LucidControl Digital Input Output DIO Module is a group of LucidControl USB IO Modules processing digital signals.
The Digital Input Output group consists of the USB Digital Input Module and the USB Digital Output Module.
Digital Input Output Modules can be used when digital signals like 24V inputs should be measured or when loads like lamps need to be controlled by a relay.
The LucidControl Digital Input Output Modules are made for industrial automation applications. Reliable plug-able IO connectors and an enclosure which can be mounted on a DIN-Rail makes the DIO Modules ideal for an installation in a switch cabinet.
Digital Input Output Signal Acquisition
Threshold Level | VLowMax | VHighMin |
---|---|---|
5 V | 2.5 V | 3.5 V |
10 V | 6 V | 8.5 V |
24 V | 16 V | 21 V |
If a voltage higher than VHighMin is applied to the digital input channel, the input is considered as HIGH state, if a voltage below VLowMax is applied, the input channel is considered as LOW state.
Voltages between VLowMax and VHighMin do not change the last valid state (hysteresis).
The DIO Module samples the input signal periodically. If the input signal is stable for a configurable period TScan, the input value is updated. Input signal which are shorter than TScan are ignored. A debouncing function filters the input signal and suppress fast signal changes, e.g. created by a mechanical switch.
Fast signal transitions can be detected by the DIO module in edge mode. This mode allows the host to poll for an event. When the DIO module detected a signal change, this remains pending until the host polls it the next time.
In count mode, the DIO module counts events. The host can read the counter value and reset it after the current value was returned.
Digital Input Output Signal Generation
LucidControl Digital IO Modules can generate output signals by using solid state relays. If the output is set, the relay is switched on, if the output is reset, the relay is switched off.
Different modes allows the output to operate in standard On/Off mode or in PWM mode. The PWM mode allows the user to specify duty-cycle and period of the PWM signal.
The outputs of the Digital Input Output Module are available in the following options:
- Solid-state relays
- Mechanical SPDT relays
- Transistor Open Collector outputs
LucidControl USB DIO Module
The LucidControl DIO Module is easy to use. It does not require a external power supply and starts operation immediately when it was connected to the USB port.
Software libraries are available for many programming languages like C# (.NET), Python and Java. LucidControl Digital Input Output Modules do not need a driver because they use a standard driver which is included to most operating systems like MS Windows or Linux.
Out company is specialized in customized solutions and we can adapt the functionality of LucidControl USB Digital Input Modules. Please contact us if you have further questions.
